I wrote this song in November 2023, in advance of traveling to Atlanta for a mobilization to Stop Cop City. I knew I wouldn't be participating directly in the action (a march onto the construction site) and was trying to think of songs that could be sung off-site to send energy towards the people putting their bodies on the line - and then this song came to me!

I have continued to sing it towards many other movements for justice, and to individuals who I want to uplift. "Resisting" can be substituted with "persisting," "existing," or other words that feel appropriate. Please share, teach, and expand upon this song as you are called.
